Born From a Personal
Wake-up Call

PatientProtect was built by the team behind NewChoice Health — a company that has spent more than 15 years fighting to give patients the price transparency they deserved.

After a personal experience following the birth of a second child, our founder discovered the hard way that the same diagnostic scans were available nearby for nearly half the cost — only after the bills arrived.

That moment sparked a mission that helped shape the healthcare cost transparency movement. NewChoice Health grew to serve over 10 million patients, generating more than $200 million in documented savings. But over time, we saw the same problem playing out again and again: transparency alone wasn’t enough to protect the patient.
